A Baby Shower Book

Good afternoon, everyone! It has been a very nice day here in Maine. The sun is shining and the temperature is 74 degrees outside in the sun.
Well, I have been taking pictures of a baby shower book I made for a friend. I would like to share the pics with you.

This is the cover of the 11in. x 11in. hand made book. If you enlarge the picture you can see the pink, half pearls on the first letter of each word.

This is the book opened. Notice the "Hello Kitty" in the left top corner. She is out in the rain. I used the Hello Kitty Greeting Cricut cartridge to cut her out and the Pooh Font Set Cricut cartridge to cut out the words. I used the Cricut Gypsy to weld the words together. More about the papers, card stock, and embellishments later.

On the bottom left corner you will find a box with files inside. Those files are filled with computer generated forms; for the Guest to sign and to leave a comment to the mother-to-be, a list for all the gifts she receives, and the list of games played at the baby shower.

This is the accordion photo album for all those wonderful baby shower pictures that will be taken during the festivities.

This is the envelope photo album where all those pictures of Mommy-to-be will be. These photos will tell the story of Mommy as she goes through each month while waiting for sweet baby to arrive. As the album is opened you can see on the left and right sides there is room for pictures also.

Each envelope holds a tabbed photo mat embellished with a button indicating what month she is at during her pregnancy. There is room for photos on the front and back of each file.

This was a large project. I really enjoyed making this. This book may have come from multiple ideas I have seen on many different blogs or sites, but this design is totally my own.

The papers, card stock, and embellishments I used to create this book are from my personal, non Stampin' Up products.

Hello again. Yes it is me. I woke up at 8:00 this morning and could not go back to sleep, in spite of the time that I had actually gone to sleep. I believe the clock said around 4:00 am when I last looked before finally falling asleep. So I am running on fumes today. Those of you who know me understand how I need at least 8 hours of sleep to function at my best. I predict a nap later today.

Now, while I seem to be alert, I will attempt to add a link to my blog. I am still not computer savy so here goes nothing.

I have been playing with my blog and I just realized how late it is. Or should I say how early it was. I am trying to make improvements to my blog, but I'm afraid it is a slow process for me. I just have a hard time catching on I guess. Well I wanted to post something to see just how it looks so far.

Here are some little note pad I covered using Stampin' Up card stock and some 3x5 unlined tablets. These make nice gifts to give to that person who love to make lists. They are kept closed with the ribbon. Thanks for stopping by.

This is the inside of the calendars I made for gifts to give out at Christmas this year. I had lots of supplies to make things and no money to spend on gifts so I kept busy getting things made for family and friends. I love making things for people who will use them.
I also made some pocket post-it-notes to match the calendars. I thought the plaid made these look more masculine. I gave these to my son and his partner.
I have recently become a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and these next pics are of gift cards I made using the products I received in my starter kit.
I made a set of gift cards to put in to a box and give as a hostess gift when I have my first workshop or party. Now that the holidays are nearly over, I will be checking with my friends to set dates for classes or just small gatherings. There are a lot of great deals coming our way starting in January.
This is the box I made to hold the gift cards. The products were taken from my started kit. the ribbon is 5/8 inch, whisper white. The box is made using Whisper White cardstock and Brights Collection Designer Series Paper. The stamps are from "So Many Thanks", the flower is from "For All You Do". I cut the flowers out and used demensionals and some pearls I had in my stash. Aside from the pearls. everything else came from Stampin' Up!

These two gift cards are also made from SU products in my starter kit. I made them for make n takes they are very cute and fun to make.
I made this card also from my starter kit. I entered it into a contest for new SU demo's. Hopefully I posted it correctly lol. After making this card I decided to make more to go into a set to give as a Christmas gift. I'm thinking I will make a box for it as well.
And this is the set. I tried to make then slightly different in the way they were laid out and also the way the ribbon was tied. Well I hope you have enjoyed your visit with me. Gone too long

Hi, So sorry it has been so long since my last post. It has been very busy here for my husband and myself. We are settled in here at my Dad's place. It has been a challenged to come to terms with the loss of Dad. He has blessed Scott and I so much! His home is now ours. It may be a small place but we can and intend to increase its size in our future. I miss my Dad and Mom. There are so many memories in this place. Every room is filled with their presence. Sometimes I still cry but the memories are so precious to me.

I have still been crafting. Sometimes I accomplish a lot and other times not so much. It sure is different living with only one other person. Yep you guessed it. Our children are all grown now. Our youngest is renting the apartment we were renting when Scott and I came to live with Dad during his last days. The empty nest thing feels kinda good actually. I get to listen to my music as loud as I want to now too. No neighbors to worry about offending. We still help Nate out ... we give him rides to and from work (in Bangor). He is working on getting his license. Yahoooooo. But then I will be worrying about him on the road. There are so many irresponsible drivers out there today it is scary to be on the roads. I am working on giving that to God now.

Ok, so now that I have babbled on I will be back later to try to post some of the projects I have taken pics of. Gotta go for now to take Nate to work. I think I will work on some more organization as well. I am trying to get my craft supplies and tools together in a more usable way. So bye for now. God bless you all. Hugs!

Dad in a happy moment. I wish I could remember what he is laughing about. If you could hear him you would just have to laugh too.

We just had Dad's funeral yesterday. Tomorrow he will be buried with full military honors. Though he has gone from this life, he is now living a new life with Jesus. He is now celebrating his arrival in Heaven. Those in attendance are friends and loved ones, Grampa, Nana, Maybel, Brian, Mom, Billy, and Rachel and many others. Though I have not mentioned there names they are missed none the less. We will see each other again one day and we will celebrate too. I will miss you Dad.

Cards From February MW Express

Hi everyone! I have been playing today with my Feb. 2010 MW Express Kit. Mamma Mia. I made five cards related to love. The pics do not do them justice. This card was made with the CS in the kit and the Sentiments were also part of the kit the Flowers are Petaloo from MW. The bling in the flowers are zva crystals also from MW. It is hard to tell but, I embossed the card base using my cuttlebug and hearts folder. I also use zva dots to pop the sentiment.
Oh you can see that I did emboss it on this pic. The brownish flower has sparkles on it makes it so shinny. I really like the pink! Don't know why. I don't usually like pink. Hmmm I wonder if it is my age? Well we won't go there. lol.

Oh and I should mention that the pearls are not from MW. They are from my stash. I have more to post a little later. I have something else pressing me at this moment, so I will try to come back later to post the rest.

A New Project

Hi everyone. It has been a challenging 2 months. At this time my DH and I are staying at my Dad's while he is recovering from an infection. He has emphizema (spell). When he has a cold or in this case bronchitis, the empizema stirs up as well. It is taking a very long time for him to overcome this set back. Meanwhile I stay with him to help him like with cooking and real basic stuff for him. The cleaning that I cannot do for him gets down by people from Helping Hands. Thank God for them. After getting into a routine, I have begone to work on some of my paper crafting. So this post is to show you what I have been able to accomplish during quiet times. In the photos above you will see the Giant Nugget Box I made. This is a new card I created last week for my husband's boss. We were invited to an end of summer party at their beautiful home. I wanted to bring a hostess gift and this is what I gave them. The party was great and there was lots of yummy food to eat.

Card for Heros

Here I used a peircing tool to make the design on the velum piece. Makes it look so lacey. Thanks Kathy of CTMH, (and my Sis) for that new technique. Well its not new but, to me maybe.

This card I made for a card challenge on the Cricut Message Board. Hmmm, I don't remember posting that on the board. Boy, this last month has been a very busy one. I'm surprised I even got a card done. Any way I used papers from MW Dreamy 2 promotion. Love that Cardstock. I cut out the sunflower using the Walk in My Garden cricut cartrige.

This is another card I made for the same challenge on the Cricut Message Board. Hmmm, don't remember posting this one either. Oh well, I used all MW paper from the Dreamy 2 promotional kit. and the flowers are from Petalo and Dazzles. I cut out the "Thinking of You". with the Walk In My Garden cricut cartrige.

Ok I am back. I had to go do some errands. So now I am going to post some pics of the cards I have been working on this past month. There are quite a few so here goes.

Here are a few cards I made for our troops overseas. I also had made some at a crop for heros about a month ago, but I didn't get pics for them. Instead I left them to be mailed out with a whole lot more. I am going to another Crop for Heros at the Scrap and Yack Shack. I am so excited I can hardly wait. This place is a brand new place. We are hoping the store will be opened. If not, then that will be ok too. That will just give me another excuse to check it out when she has her openhouse. Congrats to you Patsy! Can't wait to see your shop all set up.

I am back! Sorry I was gone so long. (Holding head down in shame.) I have created a few cards since my last post. And I am so sorry I hadn't gotten them posted till now. My excuse is that when I get time on the computer I have so many things to check out that I never get throught them all. So today I made time for this.

After his big brother opened his birthday gifts, they got to open their Christmas gifts we had saved for them. I think he like the sound of the paper more than what was inside lol.

I think he likes what he got. What a happy little boy!

This was his big brothers favorite gift. I believe his cousin got that for him. He loves to build with legos

This is what he has been waiting for! His mom said all he talked about for a week was the birthday cake. Of course like alot of children he ate a few bites and went off to play. lol Oh ya, and we all had green lips and teeth after eating it. lol

There he is checking out the cake really closely. Maybe the frosting was a bit too sweet.

Mommy and Sdad are in the background getting ready to serve the icecream.

We went to see our grandson for the first time on April 18. It was his big brother's birthday. It was such a joy to see him running and playing with his big brother and soon to be step dad. I am being very discrete because I think his mommy would feel more comfortable this way. I just wanted you to see how handsome my grandson is. Oh and I know I don't have to say it, but Marshall, my son is really proud of his boy. And was even more thrilled then I to see him. We will be seeing him again this weekend at his Grammy's house. He is the little boy in red and his big brother is in the white. His mommy is a very busy woman. She attends college full time, works, takes care of the boys and an apartment, and is due in the fall with a little sister or brother for the boys. Her husband to be, (sorry can't spell the other word, lol) also attends college and is helping her rais the children. I think they are doing a wonderful job! It will take a while for my grandson to get to know us because he is autistic. We are taking it slow and easy, allowing him to go at his own pace. I feel blessed and proud at the same time. It is just as if he were just born into the family. What a beautiful child he is. Doesn't he look alot like his big brother?

Ok enough of the mushy stuff! I will post again after the weekend visit.

My Stationary Box

I have had this project done for a few weeks now and I am just now posting it. I am sooooo sorry it took me so long to take the picture. I really have no excuse either. Anyway this is the Stationary box when it is closed. It is very pretty with its glitter.

Now this is the way it looks when it is opened. A place for everything and everything in it's place. hmmm I wish my apartment was like that. lol This is a Thank You set. Regualr A2 cards, 3x3 cards, and tags of different styles and sizes. It has an address book and a place to store stamps and a pen. This would make a great gift!

Here you can see all the pieces (except the envelopes) I will put them in too. I forgot them for the pic. Anyway you can see the embossing if you click on the pic to enlarge it. I love the colors! Most of the paper is cardstock from Prism collection I purchased at MW. The sparkly cardstock is from a stack I purchased at A.C. Moore. The ribbon I also got at A.C. Moore. Love that store! Wow! It has been a long time since I have posted on my blog. I made a card today to celebrate the arrival of spring. I also made this card for a challenge on the MemoryWorks Message Board.

I had to use 80% to 90% of MW products, which I believe I have accomplished. I have been trying to resize the photo to fit is onto the Idea Galary.

Update: I was able to resize it and it is posted in the Idea Galary on MemoryWorks Message board. Ok I am off of tonight.

Another Card With Bling and More

This card is one I also made at Belinda's I love this kind of card. it is easy to make and can be used for a photo also. Can't you just see your granddaughter(s) posed in their Easter Sunday clothes? I can see mine there. I would love receiving it in the mail after Easter.

These cute little cards are so easy and cute! One is for a girl and the other a boy. It's my guess that you probably knew that. lol I am going to give them to my grandchildren. Oh, and I made these at Belinda's also.

Here is the card I had not finished before. It is prettier than the picture offers. I love making these cards, but there sure is a lot of glitter everywhere when working on these. Thanks for looking. Have a scrappy day!

Cards With A Bling

Ok twice in one day! This has to be a record for me. LOL I have here some beautiful cards that I made at my friend Belinda's. We had a great time working on these yesterday. I noticed she posted her's too. You can find them at craftlady on my list of favorite blogs. The pink one with the roses is my favorite. BTW, these cards can be purchased (unfinished of course) at your local Walmart. They are MS . They come with the cards, envelops, and glitter. The background images were done with our collection of stamps from CTMH. Thanks Kat! You can find her creations on my link to Katsscrapbooking The kit comes with enough material to do 8 cards. As you probably figured out I still have some in progress. I have one nearly finished, which I will post later. And I may use one to embelish an explosion box, like my friend Belinda did. I am sorry but this is all that I had in my camera of the card I made for the baby shower we had on Sat. My son had my camera and it could be that he accidentally erased my pic of the front of the card. Alas, I no longer have the card. And it was a cute one too. I embossed the little elephant from cuttlebug and trimmed it to fit on the front and colored it and added some stickles to the eyes and flower that it was holding with its trunk. I wrote the saying myself as well. Feel free to use it if you wish. Well gotta go take more pics and put them in my puter before my son gets the camera again lol.

Explosion Box

Hi everyon! Here it is! the explosion box I have been working on for the past 2 or 3 days. I made it for a baby shower for one of my cousins. The baby boy is due in about a week. Hope she will be at the shower. lol. This picture shows the top of the box.

This is the front side of the box. I use paper and cardstock I had in my stash; some I purchased at my local Wal-mart. I am working on increasing my paper supply from MemoryWorks. I buy paper from many different sources. The half pearls I purchased at the last crop I attended in Bath, Maine. The ribbon I stole from my jewelry supplies.

I really had fun making this cute keepsake! I looked in every storage container I have to find the embelishments. I have stickers purchased from CM. And stamped images done using CTMH stamps. I used my MS scolloped circle punch and other punched shapes from other punches.

I used a simple technique my CTMH Consultant showed me on this section. (Thanks Sis.)
The section I am refering to is the one with the three stips of paper and the pinwheel. Cutting those three strips and lining them up so they match, but have a small space between them. I think that is so cool!

I used my MS heart punch to do this section of the box and heart stickers from CM.

Most of the embelishments are popped using pop dots. It is hard to see it in these pics. Sorry about that.

The tools I used to create this wonderful box are, Scor-pal (I'm loving it!), Friskers Paper Trimmer, Scissors, and my Glue Glider Pro (I'm loving that too!)

I'm thinking I like making boxes as much as I like making cards. Oh yes, a card! hmm, well I will be making a card to match this explosion box. I guess I will have to post that next. lol

two new cards

Hello you wonderful people out there in this wonderful world we live in. I am posting some new cards I have been working on in the last few days. This Birthday card is for my DH boss. I had bought some new cardstock in my local Wal-Mart and thougt it would be perfect for this card.

This is the inside of his card. I just printed it up and matted it and glued it inside the card. Pretty simple and fun card. Hope it is masculine enough.

Here is the flower card I made with that same paper stack from Wal-Mart. If you look closely you can see where I have done some paper piercing. This card is good for Easter or even a wedding. Hmmm there is a wedding coming up in the family next summer.

Her is a (blurry) close up of the flower so you can see the layers. I didn't show the inside. It is not finished yet just a strip of the striped paper that matches the paper behind the flower. I will find something really nice to put inside for that couple who is getting married in August.

Below you will see a slideshow I made after I went to New York with my sister and her grand daughters the summer of 2007. We stayed on the base, at her son's home, Fort Drum. While we were there, everyone got together to create the poster. The kids had a blast getting finger paints all over themselves and the poster. Didn't they do a great job! I thought the song "Proud to be an American" was very appropriate. My son, Nate sang the song. I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for looking.

My Friend Showed Me How to Make These Cards

I made these cards at my friends on Monday. We spent the whole day just making cards and chatting together. It is so much fun we are going to try to make it a weekly thing. And I am so surprised how many cards I actually get done. When I am there, I am not on here checking out blogs, working on my website. reading my e-mail or working on an online class. Thank you Belinda for having me over to do these.

This card Is truly beautiful. I am sorry the picture does not do it justice. It is a lavender color printed paper. A 12"x12" pieced of paper folder in certain ways The idea came from someone online, I am sorry I have no idea who, but thank you

This is the inside of the card. Although it is hard to see, the bee has sparkly wings and it's yellow stripes are covered with liquid glass. I guess I have to learn more about taking better pics.

This is the Spring, or Pop Up Card that we made. It is also lavender and purple colors. The flower stamp is from Close To My Heart. I can't remember the name of the set. And the sentiment is from Belinda's large stash of stamps. I don't know the company that puts it out. The card stock I used is from MemoryWorks. It is called Prismatics Candle Glow Accent Pack and Spring Willow Accent Pack. It is hard to see, but the card stock is embossed on one side and flat on the other side. The printed paper came for the Vibrant Paper Pack, which I purchased from Wal-Mart.

This Shadow Card is quite stunning. As I have said before, the pictures are not doing justice. It is white card stock I purchased from Wal-Mart. Both pieces of Card Stock have been embossed using the dots and winter scene folders and the cuttlebug. It is also very difficult to see the glitter on the winter scene to emphasize the snow on the ground, snow falling and snow on the houses.

I had hoped this picture would show the glitter and embossing better. May enlarging them by clicking on them will help.

My thoughts on Christmas

My Grandchildren River and Ophelia. They are standing in front of our Christmas tree. The tree is small but takes up quite a bit of room in our tiny appartment. I have another grand child, which I am hoping my DH and I can visit sometime during the Christmas break. He is 5 years old and I have not met him yet. It will be exciting to meet him for the first time. I can't wait!

Hi. Yep, I am back already I just wanted to add something to my blog before I go to bed. I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. I use to dread Christmas time because it is so commercialised. And I have so many wonderful family members I wish I could buy for. I am sure I am not the only one who has ever felt that way. Sometimes we get so busy around this time of year, thinking of all the things that need to be done before Christmas, we forget why we celebrate Christmas. I don't dread Christmas so much now because I realize it's not just about the gifts we give or receive. It is about love, fellowship, sharing happy memories, good food and drink. Seeing family members who live far away is one of my favorite parts of the holiday season. I look foward to seeing my nephew and his family, who live away at a military base in Georgia (I think hee hee, man I hate it when I can't remember!) They just moved recently from Fort Drum in New York. It is so much fun to see them all and see how much their children have grown. I love it when we gather at my house on Christmas Eve and watch the kids open their gifts and all the adults talking and laughing together.

I do feel sad during this time too, but for only a little bit. I miss all the loved ones who have passed. Christmas is never the same. Each year it is different. Either someone has passed or a new one has been born or that little baby is walking and talking or another friend is added to the family. Even new in-laws or (out-laws tee hee) join the fold.

Oh, no! I did not forget, it is also Jesus' birthday. And that is the gift that God gives to all of us. That gift could never be topped. The great thing about that gift is that we can have it all year round.

I just thought I would share that with anyone who is intersted. Have a great holiday season. It is a blessed time of year no matter what is happening around us. God has given us the ultimate gift. Thank you God.

I just made some new cards

Thanks Kat for helping me make these cards. I love the idea of the monogram card. I made these cards as a gift for my nephew on my DH side of the family. I don't know if you can see the embossing on the card and the envelope. I tried to get the pic to show it. I'm not too good at taking pics or adjusting them on my pc. Here are some cards I have been working on for a while in preparation for a vendor crop.
I used my Cricut Expressions to make the "Happy Birthday Circle. The papers are from my stash of Memory Works.

Here are a few close up. The picture does not do the colors of these papers much justice. I thought the ribbons pulled all the colors together nicely. Thank you for looking. I hope to post more paper crafts soon and other pics as well.

Very Pretty Cards

This stamp is a House Mouse I believe. I love the sentiment on this card "A good friend is like a warm cup of coffee." That is sooooo true. I love warm coffee. It gives me a sense of the warm fuzzies. And I love chatting over a warm cup of coffee with a dear friend!
This is the inside of the card. It looks like a good place to put a pic of you and your friend sitting and enjoying a good cup of coffee; doesn't it!

Except when I was a kid, I never really liked Halloween. But, just recently I have been enjoying making Halloween cards. They are soooooo cute. This card I believe is House Mouse. The candy corn costumes and candy is colored with colored pencils and then coated with liquid glass to give it a shinny coat.

This is the inside of the Happy Candyween card. The little spide is taken from a punch. Thank God it is not real. I am petrified of real spiders. If you've read my blog in earlier posts, you will see just how scared I am of these creepy crawlers! The paper ones are fine. I don't tend to kill them. hee hee

I think this is my favorite card so far. I love flowers, especially when they are 3D. Don't know if you can see it but, there is glitter on the centers of the flowers and on the green background stem of (?) not sure if it is suppose to be baby breath or something like that hee hee. I may like flowers but, I am no gardener! I have never been good at keeping them alive. So I love the paper ones. They work much better for me. But, I don't turn down a bouquet of real flowers when ever my husband is inclined to give me some. hee hee

This is a cute Christmas card. The trim around their hats has gold glitter on them. I like glitter, incase you didn't know. LOL If you can see the card has some gold thread sewn into the paper. I thought the gold on the hats would kinda bring it all together.

This is the inside of the card. I just love the gold thread and the cute little button shaped like a gift wrapped box. The paper is very christmasy! (is that a word? lol) Anyway I love it!

Don't you just love these cute little hedge hogs. I'm not sure if this stamp is Penny Black. But I think it is. This card is so whimsical! I love it.

I went to a card shop at my sisters, where about 8 good friends gathered to make all these lovely cards. I have really enjoyed making these cards. This is the Anniversary card I made to give to my hubby. The picture on it is from our wedding album. The picture did not come out as good as I had hoped. I had to scan it then save and then print it. The quality is not good. but, it is the thought that counts. And he loved it! That counts too. hee hee.

Here are some of the tags I have been working on for a swap. My friend Belinda gave me some really good ideas. and she let me use a cricut cart. i don't have at home. Thanks Belinda. I don't remember the name of the cart. but, I know it has to do with Christmas. lol I took the top pic because I wanted to get closer so the sparkle would show but, it doesn't. I need a better camera to get that bling to show. Anyway you get the idea.

Pop-up Card

Here is the card I made last night around midnight (hee hee). My dear sister sent me a site on Utube that showed videos on cardmaking. Thanks Kat. Anyway, after I saw that video, I just had to make it. So here it is. Of course I didn't have the exact same papers and stamps, but it works for me. I made it a little smaller than what she had made hers. I used plain white cardstock for the card and blue from my stash of CM cardstock. The stamps I chose for this card are from CTMH With Love and Follow Your Dreams. The wire is from my jewelry stash.

I really had fun with this technique. I am going to use some products from MW (I have very little of that in my inventory. Working on it.) to make another card using this technique. When I have finished I will post that one. Thanks for looking.

My Halloween Poem

Creepy, crawlies in the night,
Out to give us all a fright.

I want you to have a spooktacular day.

So when this day has gone away,

I am having sooooo much fun today! I have been playing with my new Cricut Expressions. I have made a card for a swap I am in, so actually I made eight of the same card, which is posted here. I used Stretch your Imagination cart., Plantin Schoolbook cart. and Paper Pups.

The main card was created with the Streach your Imagination cart. The words were created using the outher cartriges. It was a lot of work, but worth it. I like the way they came out. I can't wait to see what the others have come up with in my swap group. Well that is it for tonight. I need to get off this computer and make the envelopes. Then they will be ready for mailing. thanks for looking.

This is Ophelia and River already for the water. They look like sea monsters don't they. They swim like little fishies. They loved the water. I went in it with them for about an hour or so. Then we had lunch. I stayed out after lunch but, they went back in for a long time. I hope they remember this for a long time. I remember the times Kathy and I spent with our grandparents doing special things.

River put his little boat in the water but it just kept coming back to shore LOL.

He finally just said "here it come Grammy." and then they both went out to play somemore. I am glad they liked the water. It was wavy and warm.

A New Card Style for Me

Hello. I had a "stay home day" today. I actually stayed home ha ha. Ya sounds nuts doesn't it. I don't stay home often. So today I felt creative. I was inspired by the tutorials at Splitcoaststampers.com. Because I don't have the exact stamp shone on the tutorials I improvised. of course lol.

Here is the first one I created. This card opens like a gate. The smaller oval is also the latch. I used basic white cs to stamp on. The congratulations stamp is CTMH. The flower pot stamp is Stampin up. The small paper flowers and brads are from MemoryWorks.

This is the inside of the card. It is left blank so that a note can be hand written.

This card is also from the splitcoaststampers site. It is called the flap card. The paper is from Creative memories, White cs and neutral are from a local craft store or department store. The stickers are from CTMH My Stickease and the paper flower is from MW. The sticker "It's a Beautiful Day" is also the latch to keep the card closed.

We are going to the beach on Saturday, if the weather is good. Can't wait! Gonna bring my camera and take lots of pics. Ok well it is really late and I need to go to bed. A young lady who was also in our card shop at Belinda's. She has five children and believe me she is a busy mom and she helps to keep Belinda busy too. I hear they have many baseball games and other activities to attend. I remember those days with my son. boy, those bleachers are hard on the behind lol.

Here are some of the cards we made today. The characters were cut from the small cricut. Belinda and I spent a few hours on separate occasions gluing the characters together for everyone to have for their cards. I must say they all look spectacular!!!
Michelle and her mom Priscilla also came to this fun party. They had a great time. We see them here with the thank you gifts which, Belinda gave to all the attendees.

It is now June 9th the last card shop at Belinda's. It was a fun time! The cards turned out beautifully, The food was delicious! Thanks Belinda. You are a great hostess. And thanks for the gifts. So I thought you might like to see some of the pics I took of the activities that took place today. Later I will post pics of the cards we made. They came out sooooooo gooooood!

A Small Album

Ok, here I am again. I hear that my public awaits for more blogs from me. lol (This is for you Kat.) So I have been working on a small album of my grand daughter. I have all the pages started with pics in them but, I am still embellishing them. So I only have the first three pages. I hope you like it. It was hard to choose the pics to fit it because I have so many of Ophelia when she was a baby. When I get around to doing my grandson's, I will have to get some pics from his mom. I hope she has plenty. I don't have as many baby pics of him. He didn't live with us when he was a baby, like Ophelia did. I have both Ophelia and River on Saturday nights and they go with us to church on Sunday morning. They are in a puppet skit this Sunday so I will try to get some good pics then. I love having my grandchildren over. They are the best age now when we can do things together, like playing games, watching movies, even scrapbooking. They are a joy in my life.

Ophelia picked a couple of pictures from her trip to the Boston Aquarium. She chose a picture of the penguins and a picture of her friend while they were on the charter bus. She really likes all the embellishing! I am going to work on getting her an album to put her pages into.

River chose a postcard he got from his nanny (grandmother, not me). I was surprised to see how intent he was when he was working on it. He said he was going to put it on his bedroom wall.

Hello. It has been a long time since I have been here. Well I have some new pictures to show you. I have been to a crop in Waterville, (thanks Kat). I worked on some cards using paper and stamps I purchased from Close To My Heart. The paper is called Silhouette. Love it! The little box they are in was a make-n-take that my sister did. Thanks again Kat! I wanted to learn to make that. It is a great way to make up a card set and give as a gift.

Today I went to my friend's to a card shop and we used the same paper. Love it! so you will see the little box we made there and the cards are in it. I have not finished them yet. That is why they are not in the pic. I will do that later.

Soon I will also be showing pictures of creations made by papers and supplies from my own business. I am now a MemoryWoks Consultant. Woohoooooooo! More stuff to create with! Well I need to go for now. I have to stop having fun and prepare dinner while my husband goes to pick up Nate in Fairfield.

Here they are, the cards I have been working on. If you look really close you will see the cards have been embossed. I used my new cuttlebug for that. The last card I colored with water color pencils and blended with my tombo blending pen. They all have some glitter on them. And the bunny is in 3D so he really looks like he is peeking out of the hole. I really had fun making these even though they were time consuming and needed time to dry (the glitter). I have not put sayings inside yet. Need to find some really nice sayings for them. Well gotta go for now.

Hello. It has been a long while since I have been here. Well I have been busy. Seems I am a taxi driver for my son. lol I don't mind really, but it does keep me busy. I take him to school and pick him up four days a week. He is attending the community college in Fairfield. And today he needs a ride to Bangor DOT. Hey maybe this is a sign of relief for me in the future lol. mmmmm maybe. Anyway, I have been working on some cards for spring and Easter. maybe I can sell some in the future. Easter Card

Here is an Easter card I made today. I got the idea from my friend Belinda, the shape of the card anyway. I used white card stock to cut the shape. Then I random stamped with black ink. After I stamped the card then I colored each stamped picture with water color pencils and blended them with my tombo blending pen from CTMH. I also colored the egg with water color and blended it as well. I thought it was cute. and I will be making more later.

I have been inspired once again by your creative talent. I just want to make more and more cards!!! Here are a few pics I took while everyone was busy embellishing their cards. Oh and take note, Belinda is the gal making faces behind one of the unsuspecting ladies. LOL, you are a funny girl!! And, notice that we had a new baby in our group, Princess. Good evening, I had some fun tonight after dinner. I played with some paper and stamps and made these three little cards. I used paper from the pack "North Shore" that I purchased at the crop I went to on Saturday with my sister Kat. I love any theme that is nautical. So I used the stamps I had to make these note cards. It was fun making them. If you look real close you can see the embossing on the white part of the card. I am still hoping to purchase the cricut and the cuttlebug. I am waiting for them to go on sale too. Hope I still have money when they are.

What is St. Patric's Day All About?

Well, I was searching to find out what my name means (Patty). I came up with a site on who St. Patrick is. So I thought I would share it with you. My name is related to His. Anyway, there is a man named St. Patrick. who's real name is Maewyn Succat. Try to say that 10 times fast. lol

This man was born somewhere near the end of the fourth century. He changed his name to Patrick or Patricus after he became a priest. At the age of 16 he was kidnapped from his native land of Britian by a band of pirates who sold him into slavery in Ireland. He worked as a shepherd and turned to religion for solace. After six years of slavery he escaped to the northern coast of Gaul where he studied in the monastery under St. Germain, bishop of Auxerre for twelve years. He came to believe that it was his calling to convert the pagans of Ireland to Christianity. Patrick was about sixty years old when he arrived in Ireland and it is said that he had a winning personality that helped him win converts. he taught the concept of the trinity by using a shamrock, a three-leafed clover. (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).

Patrick was arrested several times, but escaped each time. He traveled throughout Ireland, establishing monasteries and setting up schools and churches to aid in converting the Irish country to Christianity. Legend has it that Saint Patrick drove all the snakes out of Ireland. Evidently, they all went into the sea and drowned. The snake is a pagan symbol and perhaps this is a figurative tale explaining that he drove paganism out of Ireland.

Patrick's mission in Ireland lasted for thirty years. He then retired to County Down and died on March 17 in 461 AD. That day has been commemorated as St. Patrick's Day ever since. The first year St. Patrick's Day was celebrated in this country was 1737 in Boston, Massachusetts. As the saying goes, on this day "everybody is Irish!" Over 100 U.S. cities now hold Saint Patrick's Day parades.

I'm back! This time I have a pic of a few cards I made a several of days ago. Finally got my camera back. I sat down one morning and just dug out some paper and stamps and began to create Valentine cards. I am not as fast as someone else I know, (my sister). But, I had fun making them. I'm not sure if the pic does them justice because they are suppose have sparkle on them. When ever I have time to create again I want to make MORE!!!!!!! Good evening to you all. I was hoping to take some pics today of I don't know what and then I remembered that I let my son take the camera with him last night and he is not home yet. Oh well, some other time perhaps. I really don't know what I want to talk about. Nothing interesting has been going on around here lately. It snowed nearly everyday this week. Not a lot of accumulation mind you, but enough to annoy me. This is the first time in many years that it has snowed so much. I really should be finishing my cards I had started a looooong time ago. These cards would be Christmas cards. Yup! I know Christmas is over but, I will need them for next Christmas. I was surprised at how many people I know and have passed Christmas cards to. I even sent some to people where my husband works. They loved them. I guess they haven't seen many home made cards before. When one of the ladies had a baby shower at the place my husband works, they were all gagagagag over the crocheted items I made. My husband said that they acted like they have not seen much for home made baby stuff before. I though everyone or just about everyone got stuff hand made especially for babies. let me see if I can find the picture of her gifts I made. Yes it worked. You can see the picture at the top. You will see the blanket in multicolor (pastel) and the hat and mits in yellow. The blue and green thing is a shoulder cover for mom. These were quick, easy, and fun to make. I love making things for babies.

Monday Night

Well, it is Monday again. The weeks are going by so fast these days. I guess the saying is true. "The older we get the faster the time goes by." I apologize, I don't know who actually said that. Anyway I had a really great time on Saturday with my sister Kathy and friend Patsy. Thanks girls, can't wait to do it again. The crop was buzzing with activity as people took out boxes of memories and lovingly placed them on beautiful layouts. There was much chatter at each table, people meeting new people and others seeing old friends. I did not get a lot of cropping done but, I did have fun. I saw many things and I even bought some things from some of the vendors. Sometimes it is just nice to get together with other women and chat. I did learn some new techniques and saw some new (to me) tools used for scrapbooking. And now I want them all!!!!!!! Some day, a little at a time I will have them. Meanwhile, I will play with the stuff my sister has or my friend has. I know they won't mind. Well gotta go for now. It is getting late. Night.

Have You Ever Seen One of These Up Close?

Woe!!!!! Have you ever seen one of these up close and personal? And, no that is not my hand. I found this pic on line when I was looking for what kind of spider I had encountered one cool spring morning when I attempted to enter the laundry room. A spider that looked exactly like this one was creeping along the cement floor right across the doorway where I was standing. I stood there in shock not believing my eyes. It moved very, slowly across the floor closer and closer to the washing machine. I was totally creeped out by its long, hairy, legs as each one moved menacingly along carrying its fat, hairy, body along the gray, cool, floor. I gasped for air and stepped back and turned toward my son's room. Not realizing how loud I was I began to pound on his door, yelling, "Nathan, you need to come out here and see this!" Keeping my eye on the creepy crawler, I pointed to it when Nathan opened his door. (His bedroom was near the laundry room.) He said "Oh my God! But, I was the hysterical one. Screaming, I said" Oh, you gotta kill it Nate! Grab a shoe and kill it!" So he went back into his room and grabbed a shoe and went out to kill it. After a few seconds of chasing it, the dirty deed was done. Nathan then proceeded to go back to his room leaving the splattered, dead, spider in the path to the washing machine. My reaction was, "Eew! Please clean that up!" So he grabbed some toilet paper and cleaned up the glob and threw it into the flush. "Thank you Nathan, thank you so much! You are my hero." This is a true story. I had never seen a tarantula on the loose before. I have seen them only on TV. That was enough for me. I think back to that day and I am really sorry I had it killed. I should have put it into something and found out where it came from. I was so hysterical I just lost it. Even now when I look at the picture I quiver. If I saw one again I would probably call my hit man (lol) and have it killed. So all you arachnid lovers please forgive me.

Still Snowing Here

Yup! It is still snowing here. In the first picture you can see my husband behind the car. Believe it or not he is clearing off his car so he can go back to work. The time was about 1:00pm. You can't even see his car behind mine. Actually he is driving my car (the one he is clearing off) and I use his car. That's another story. The second pic I just took at about 2:45pm. I think you're getting the idea. LOTS OF SNOW HERE!!!

Another Nor'easter in Maine

Here we go again! Another Nor'easter in Maine is whirling outside my door. We had lost a lot of snow over the past week. We could even see some grass in the front yard. I apologize for not taking pictures then. Today I did take pics of the falling snow I would like to share with you. Notice the car in the first pic. That was taken at about 11:15 am and the car in the next pic was taken one hour later. The third pic was taken at about 12:45. My husband came home for lunch today and he said the roads were very slick. Thank God the community college my son attends canceled today. I am a wreck when I have to drive in this kind of mess.

My Sparkling Creation

Hello there. I am back again. Tonight I thought I would share with you something I created. I am so excited! Several days ago I went shopping with a friend and was able to purchase some very pretty beads at a discount price. With a new found enthusiasm I created this beautiful necklace and earring set. I wore this set to church this morning and received compliments on it. I have made many necklaces and other types of jewelry in the past but, I must say I believe this set is my favorite. I enjoy creating jewelry pieces, especially when I have good quality beads to work with. On my budget that is not often enough. I do make nice pieces that are inexpensive to make so I can sell them at a real reasonable price.
The picture doesn't do this set justice! but it is the best I can do. It is very pretty and has just the right amount of sparkle when the light hits it! The beads are faceted round metal, faceted bicone smoke and faceted bicone black, strung on double bead thread and secured with bead tip covers, attached with silver jumprings with a silver screw on clasp. It is elegant and can be worn with formal or casual attire.

It is difficult for him to get out during the winter months, especially this winter. He has emphysema and the cold makes it very hard for him to breath even though he has oxygen.
Well, let's get back to Frankie the cat. These pics are Soooooo Funny! This cat thinks he is some precious fur or something! The man Frankie is adorning is my husband Scott.

Well It is 10:10 pm. I am sitting at my kitchen table while my two sons are watching the special features of one of Nate's movies. It is the remake of Halloween.
I haven't written anything for a couple of days and I thought it was time I did. so I thought I would pick a picture I had taken recently and talk about it. I choose this picture of my cat Frank
Frank is about 11 years old. He came into our family as the smallest kitten from the litter but now you can see he has grown! He is a very strange kitty. As you notice he has his food and water on the sideboard and not on the floor. Well, I don't know exactly why, but he hates walking on the floor. The heat is in the floor and I think it bothers his feet to walk on it. We discovered it when he stopped eating and was loosing weight. Well as you can see he doesn't mind eating on the counter top, lol.
He is such an affectionate cat. He thinks nothing of climbing into my lap and laying across my chest and resting his head on my shoulder. I wonder if he thinks he is a human baby? He also likes to get on the table and bug me while I am working on something or even when I am trying to eat. That is where I draw the line and put him onto the counter where he eats. Maybe that's why he is sooooo fat now!? When he wants something he sits and stares at me (just like you see in the picture). He expects me to read his mind. when I try to ignore him he will give me a nibble on my hand. That gets my attention.! When it is cold or rainy out he hates to go out and he gets irritable and takes it out on anyone he can. He will climb all over us, take his bath on our lap.eeew! That can be offensive at times especially after he has eaten, pu bad breath! He is a very pretty cat and he loves people, especially when he has every one's attention. The only time he runs and hides is when there are a lot of people around like last Christmas. If our family is sitting around the table talking he will come onto the table and make his presence known to each one, pacing from one person to the other until everyone has made of him. He is a great friend but I hate sharing the bed with him. He is a bed hog and he likes to sleep on my feet. I think he likes having his pic taken because he seems to pose for them. I will post more pics of him later. Frankie is a special part of our family He is a cat with personality, attitude, and tenacity. We love him and we'll miss him when he is gone.

The First Day

Well here I am on my blog, for the first time. I have never done this before so it may seem slow in progress. I am one who learns as I go. Anyway I would normally be in church today but I stayed home with my son who is sick, maybe the flue. Hope he is better soon. For anyone who is interested in finding a good church check out the website www.churchoftheholylight.com. This is a church where everyone is welcome. It has a caring and very relaxed atmosphere.
For anyone who is reading this from afar, It is a very snowy winter thus far in Maine. We'v had at least one snow storm per week in the month of Dec. Today is Jan. 6th and we have snow banks sooooo high now that we take our life in our own hands when we try to drive through town. When ever we get to an intersection we have to pull out into the road to see if any cars are coming. There have been many close calls. I will try to get a picture of my yard to post for anyone who is interested.
